There are nowadays 8 city gates in Leiden:
1. Morspoort
2. Rijnsburgerpoort
3. Marepoort
4. Herenpoort
5. Zijlpoort
6. Hogewoerdspoort
7. Koepoort
8. Witte Poort

These city gates are situated in the city center. Because Leiden was smaller then it is today. Now there are new districs built around it.
